Out of Regen's Triple Champion 'Ruby' by a National Amateur Field Champion, Buddy, aka NAFC FC AFC Northern Lights This BudsForU, Diesel has the breeding to be a great versatile dog. He lives near Seattle with his owner, Anne, and her English Setters 'Dexter' and 'Deuce'.

Diesel is precocious, a workaholic, and an obedience phenom. By 6 months of age he had mastered all of the obedience exercises to the utility level with precision and animation. Diesel won the WCA National Obedience trial from the Novice B class as a yearling and from the Open B class as a 2 year old and he has also won High in Trial and High Combined many times at all breed obedience trials. He earned his Utility Dog title at only 1 year and 10 months of age, an amazing accomplishment for any dog, but particularly so for this team as before competing with Diesel, Anne had never entered an obedience trial. His top score in Open obedience competition is 199.5 out of 200 and his top score in Utility is 199. He has won the Weimaraner Club of America National Obedience trial 3 times. He earned his AKC Obedience Trial Championship at only 3 years of age, has 295 OTCh points making him the all time top obedience Weimaraner - and he has just embarked on a bench career where he has 8 points and one major to his credit.

Diesel is no slouch at birdwork either - he has had lots of opportunity to hunt wild birds in the Northwest and has demonstrated terrific bird-finding ability and is genuinely bird crazy, showing great style and intensity on point. At 9 months old at his very first field trial he placed 2nd in his Field Futurity. He earned a perfect score in his NAVDHA Natural Ability test and won the Derby Classic stake at the WCA Mid-America regional field trial. He passed his Shooting Dog Excellent test at just under 2 years of age and won his first broke field trial stake at just over 2 years of age. Diesel has placed and won in all-breed field competition including winning the WCA Western Classic Amateur Gun Dog stake and he has 6 points towards his AKC Amateur Field Championship and 4 of the 5 legs needed for a Master Hunter title.
